Change your home page in IE 11

Your home page is the first web page you see when you open your web browser. This is usually set to a default page by your browser but it’s easy to change it to a web page of your own choice. Here’s how to add or change home pages in Internet Explorer 11.

Add or change home pages

Step 1  On the Start screen, click the Internet Explorer tile to open the web browser.

Step 2  In the browser window, open the page you want to use as a home page.

Step 3  Move your mouse cursor to the top right of the screen and from the Charms menu click Settings.

Step 5  Click Add current site and then click Add to make the webpage one of your home pages. When you next open Internet Explorer, this webpage and any others you’ve set as home pages will load automatically.

Step 1  Open the desktop and click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar to open the web browser.

Step 2  In the browser window, open the page you want to use as a home page.

Step 3  Click the Tools icon and select Internet options from the drop-down menu.

Step 4  On the General tab, under Home page, click Use current to add the webpage currently on view. Alternatively, you can add the URL of the webpage you want to use – if adding more than on URL, use a separate line for each one.

Step 5  Click Apply, and then click OK. When you open IE again or click the Home button, your home pages will load automatically.
