Windows 8 doesn’t show all of the apps on your computer on the Start screen. However, you can avoid time wasted in searching for the app you want by pinning your favourites to the Start screen so that you can quickly open them.
Pin an app to the Start screen
Step 1 Right-click anywhere on the Start screen background.
Step 2 From the menu bar that appears at the bottom of the screen, click All apps. This will show a list of all of the apps installed on your computer.
Step 3 Right-click the app you want to add to the Start screen.
Step 4 From the menu bar that appears at the bottom of the screen, click Pin to Start.
Step 5 Click the bottom-left corner to return to the Start screen. Your chosen app will now appear as a tile on the Start screen.
Unpin an app from the Start screen
Step 1 On the Start screen, right-click the app you want to remove.
Step 2 From the menu bar that appears at the bottom of the screen, click Unpin from Start. The app tile will be removed from the Start screen.
You can select more than one tile at once and then unpin them all with just a click.
