Once you’ve found an app on the Windows Store, you can download and install it on your computer. As apps are linked to your Microsoft account, you need only purchase an app once. The app can then be installed on all of your Windows 8 devices.
Install an app
Step 1 Click the app you wish to install.
Step 2 You’ll then see the app information page.
- If it is a free app, click Install.
- If the apps shows a price, click Buy and then follow the on-screen instructions to add or edit your credit card information if necessary.
Step 3 The app will download and install automatically. You’ll see a confirmation message when the process is completed.
Step 4 The new app will appear on the Start screen. Click the tile to launch the app.
Some apps on the Windows Store have free demo versions so you can try them for a limited time before deciding to buy. Click the Try button if available to download a demo of the app.
Delete an app
Step 1 Right-click the app you want to delete on the Start screen.
Step 2 From the menu that appear at the bottom of the screen, click Uninstall.
Step 3 In the dialog box that appears, click Uninstall. The app will be deleted from your computer.
